Hello sweet souls,
Today is 9 Kawok—the storm that clears, the great cleansing held by the grandmother of creation, the feminine life force breaking open what has been stuck so something true can come through. And we are in the trecena of B’atz—the monkey, the weaver, the artisan of creation, the trecena that opens the new ceremonial cycle and asks us to begin again.
What a day for this transmission. Kawok is the energy of rebirth, the rain that makes everything possible, the labor that brings new life. And B’atz is the thread itself, the loom, the patient hands that weave a life.
A day of letting the storm clear the old field so something new can be woven.
It feels like such a beautiful day for this transmission to arrive.
This is the first transmission of June—a month dedicated to Receptivity as the Key to Worthiness and Receiving—and it begins a different conversation than the one you may have been having with yourself.
I called it You Were Never Unworthy. Because I have come to believe that most of us have been misdiagnosed. We have been told that the wound underneath everything we are not yet receiving—love, abundance, the life we want—is a worthiness wound. So we journal. We affirm. We sit in front of mirrors and try to convince ourselves we deserve. And the work is not wrong. But it is also, often, not the actual diagnosis.
What I have come to understand—and what I want to offer you in this transmission—is that the real wound, for many of us, is not unworthiness. It is a closed field. And a closed field cannot be reached by affirmation. It can only be reached by the slow, devotional practice of opening.
In this transmission, I speak honestly about the decades I lived as a closed field. I tell you about the man who arrived to teach me something I could not yet receive. I tell you about a stranger who showed up at exactly the right moment and taught me what it meant to simply say thank you. I tell you about the Pinterest board four years ago that became this home in the high desert—and the doubt I still felt at the doorway of the answered prayer. And I share what is true even now, even as I record this: openness is not a destination. It is a returning. Over and over, for the rest of our lives.
You do not have to convince yourself you deserve anything. You just have to open enough to let what is already yours find its way to you.
If this transmission stirs something in you—if there is something you have been calling in for a long time that has not yet arrived, and you are ready to stop working on the wrong wound—I want to hold you in person.
On Saturday, June 20th—the Summer Solstice and 6 Toj in the Mayan Sacred Calendar, the day of the sacred fire, of reciprocity, of offering and receiving—I am opening my home in the high desert for a half-day ceremonial journey.
The Solstice Journey to the Altar Within. Eight seats. Three and a half hours of moving through the four sacred movements: Resting, Opening, Receiving, and Emerging. Ceremonial Cacao poured for you with intention. A guided sound journey where your ancestors will be present and speak. A sharing circle for the wisdom that emerges from each of us. A warm meal to close.
This is the kind of container where a closed field can finally soften. Where the body remembers what safety feels like. Where what you have been calling in finds its way to your altar—because you have made the space to receive it.
If you are called—trust that.
Sending you so much love.
Maggie
