Hello sweet souls,
Today, we begin the trecena of 1 Kawok—and if you felt yesterday’s precision, today you will feel the release.
Yesterday was 13 Tijax. The surgical blade. The cut so clean and exact that you may have barely felt it. Tijax does not ask you to feel. It asks you to see clearly, to cut what needs cutting, to sever with love what is no longer alive between you and your becoming.
And now the rain comes. 🌧️
Kawok is the thunderstorm. Not the gentle kind—the kind that changes the landscape. The kind that turns the arroyos into rivers. The kind that clears the sky so completely that afterward, everything looks newly made.
This is what Kawok asks of you: not more precision, not more knowing, not more doing—but surrender. Let the storm move through you. Let the rain find every place the blade already opened, and wash it clean. Let the chaos that follows transformation do what chaos is designed to do—make space for what could not have arrived any other way.
In the Mayan tradition, Kawok is also deeply feminine. It is yin after yang. It is the great mother receiving what the storm delivers. It is the body—your body—as the vessel that can hold the wildness, endure the intensity, and emerge on the other side not broken but reborn.
Because here is what Kawok knows: emergence always happens through chaos. The seed doesn’t open gently. The storm doesn’t ask permission. The birth canal is not comfortable. And yet—what comes through is life. New life. Your life, at a depth you have not yet inhabited.
Your Soul is already there, waiting. It lives in all dimensions simultaneously—past, present, and the future you are becoming. It can see what is waiting for you. It has already unrolled the red carpet. It is already holding the door.
This 13-day trecena, which runs from Saturday, April 11 through Thursday, April 23, is your invitation to walk through.
This is the medicine of Kawok. Not the storm itself, but what the storm makes possible. The willingness to be drenched. The trust that the rain knows what it is washing away. The faith that what emerges after—softer, cleaner, more wholly yourself—was always who you were becoming.
For members of the Altar, images and a full description of this altar are down below. If you’d like to share thoughts on Kawok, please add it to the comments here. And, if you’d like to join the Altar, consider this your invitation. The group of us are meeting this afternoon—Saturday, April 11—for a Cacao Ritual and Kundalini Transmission to welcome Kawok and our own rebirth or continued emergence.
One more thing—for those of you in or near Santa Fe, I am hosting a Sacred Ancestor Reading on Saturday, April 18. This is an in-person gathering where I open the field and bring through messages from the ancestors for those in the room. If you feel the call, I would love to have you. Details are linked below.
Sending you rain that clears more space for your Soul,
Maggie
