Hello sweet souls,
I’m sending this on Tuesday, also 13 No’j—as tomorrow is the first day of a new trecena, when the Tijax blade is at its most potent.
On Wednesday, we begin the trecena of 1 Tijax—and if you have been carrying something that no longer belongs to you, this is the energy that will finally cut it free.
Tijax is the obsidian blade. Not the blade of destruction—the blade of the surgeon, the healer, the holy warrior. The tool that knows exactly where to cut so that life can continue. Tijax is precision in the service of truth. It does not wound carelessly. It removes what is causing the wound.
But Tijax is more than a blade. At its core, Tijax is the energy of healing and purification. It is the force that restores harmony—not by adding something new, but by removing what has accumulated that was never meant to stay. The wound that won’t close. The pattern running beneath your awareness. The grief you’ve been carrying so long you’ve forgotten it isn’t yours. Tijax sees all of it. And it knows exactly what needs to go.
This is what Tijax teaches: not everything that hurts is harming you. Sometimes the blade is the medicine. The obsidian does not apologize for its sharpness. It knows that cutting with clarity is an act of love—that seeing through to the truth of something, even when that truth is uncomfortable, is how healing actually begins.
Tijax is also the ceremonial mirror. What it cuts through is not just disease or old patterns—it cuts through the story you’ve been telling yourself about why you can’t. Why you’re not ready. Why it’s not the right time. The mirror shows you what is already true. The blade clears the way for you to act on it.
Tijax is my core nawal—the energy I was born into. I know this blade well. I am asked to cut in truth constantly. To see clearly when others are still circling. To speak what is true even when it would be easier to stay quiet. This is not always comfortable. But I have learned that the cut made in love, in service of truth, is one of the most sacred things I know how to do.
1 is the number of pure beginning. The seed before it breaks open. So 1 Tijax is the healing force at its most potent—precise, purifying, full of what is ready to be released. These 13 days are an invitation to take a fresh look:
What needs to be healed or removed in order to bring harmony back into your life?
What are you still carrying that is disrupting your peace, your purpose, your aliveness?
And what becomes possible the moment you allow it to be cut away?
The question Tijax asks your Soul is simple: What truth are you ready to see—and what is it time to release?
Tijax’s colors are black and white—the volcanic obsidian and the clarity of what it reveals. These are not gentle colors. They do not ask for softness. They ask for discernment. For the courage to see clearly and act accordingly.
This trecena runs from Wednesday, May 20 through Monday, June 1.
For members of The Altar:
I will see you in tomorrow’s Cacao Ritual and Restorative Yoga Session at 11:00am MDT on Zoom—right as the trecena opens. There is no more potent moment to step into Tijax’s energy than on the first day, in ceremony, with Cacao to open the heart. If you’re not a member and wish to join us, join The Altar. We have additional events this month—details here.
Images and a full detailed description of this altar are below—along with guidance for designing your own altar based on what’s unfolding in your life.
If you’d like to share what Tijax is cutting through for you, please add it to the comments. I’d love to hear it. We are all here to witness it.
Sending clarity to your heart and your life,
Maggie
