Hello sweet souls,
As I write this, we are standing at the threshold of the trecena of K’at—the net, the web, the great woven gathering of all the threads of a life.
K’at is the net the fisher casts into the water and the basket the harvester carries into the field. It is the weave that holds, and it is also the tangle that binds. On this day we are asked to look honestly at the web of our own lives—what we are holding, what has become knotted, what is ready to be released into the sacred fire, and what abundance is already caught in the net, waiting only for us to notice it and claim it.
And because this is 1 K’at, we are at the very inception of this energy—its first breath, its infancy. We are not asked to untangle the whole net today. We are asked only to sit down before it. To draw the threads gently toward us. To begin.
This is tender work, and it pairs with everything this season has been asking of us: receptivity. Worthiness. The quiet truth that the net cannot catch what we will not allow ourselves to receive. So as this trecena opens, I invite you to soften. To open your hands. To let yourself be gathered.
For me, this particular 1 K’at carries something even more sacred—it opens a 28-day walk I make each year, the Path of the Plumed Serpent, that leads toward and through my Mayan birthday. I share what this path is, and the altar I built to hold the first half of this journey, in the section below for those walking with me in The Altar.
I will see the members of The Altar online for our Cacao Ritual with 1 K’at on Monday, June 15 at 11:00am MT on Zoom. We will open with Cacao and move into a guided meditation to sit with the web of your life. You will create more space within you to fortify your Soul as the bridge. If you’d like to join us, become a member of The Altar.
However you meet this trecena—at your own altar, in your own quiet, with your own open hands—may the net gather only what is yours, and may you trust what it brings.
With you in the weave,
Maggie
